Our last month at Royal Palm Marina . . .

You guessed it, we continued to work, work, work ~  as is evident here with Dave refiberglassing about a 10' section of the port deck.  The deck was soft in several areas and after unsuccessfully trying a "band aid" fix, Dave decided to pull out the 'ol circular saw and rip it all up!

With some guidance from a local fiberglass guy and several helpful guys in the marina, Dave "got his man" as they say.  The new deck turned out great.  I managed to put my caulking skills to good use and caulked just about every edge or joint to prevent any chance of water intrusion.

We were so pleased to have many guests during the month of March.  Early in the month we had a great couple days with Trevor and Melissa Berry visiting.  Mid month Rick and Sue Clark joined for some fun in the sun.

Stephen came down to experience boat life during his last spring break from OSU.  As usual, here he is watching his dad work!

Actually he was a great help, seen here getting wet to lend a helping hand installing the new Hurley Dinghy Davit system.  What a great purchase that was, it sure makes getting the dinghy on and off the swim platform a breeze.

And after 5 days in tight quarters, we were all still smiling!  Stephen got to spend a day in Sarasota enjoying Grandma's great cooking and playing golf with Grandpa.  We were all happy to see him!

Linda and Bill made it down for an overnight visit, but unfortunately it was by far the worst weather day we had in 3 months ~ so sorry Lyd!!!!!  Bill, Dave and cousin Tom Grohl drank a little beer to help brighten up the day.

While Linda and Bill were in town, Mom and Dad came down with Amber (who came to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa for a week) and cousin Arlene Grohl, who were hanging out on the flybridge to stay dry.

The last few days at RPM were filled with anticipation of and preparation for our upcoming journey across the state and up the east coast, but we did have a lot of fun with all our new "neighbors".  In our terms, this was our little "5:05" which included lots of cocktails on into the night . . . .

. . . with Kathyrn and Angie becoming the referees for the . . . .

. . . the night time boys fishing contest.  Needless to say, after much Crown Royal, the fish won!!

Dave and Dr. Mike take a final spin in the dinghy to make sure she's ready for the trip.

We're sure going to miss watching the sunset from our back deck, but we're going to miss the people more. TO ALL OUR GREAT NEW FRIENDS AT RPM. . . THANKS FOR EVERYTHING AND WE WILL SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
